The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of renewable energy projects such as solar farms and substations, ensuring compliance with standards and coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate project development and grid connection.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee site electrical works, including installation, testing, and commissioning of PV farm and substation equipment
Review and optimize electrical equipment and material specifications for PV, Wind, BESS systems, substations, and transmission lines
Ensure electrical activities comply with IFC drawings, technical specifications, codes, and standards
Coordinate with EPC contractors and OEs for design reviews, construction supervision, procurement, and QA/QC and HSE implementation
Review and verify electrical work progress, and support progress reporting, billing, and schedule tracking
Update grid and energy data, and prepare documentation for interconnection processes with NGCP and DUs
Coordinate with NGCP, DUs, EPC Contractors, and service providers on project energization, testing, commissioning, and CATC issuance
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Licensed Electrical Engineer
Over 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including involvement in solar power plant, substation, and transmission line projects
Familiar with grid connection processes, including coordination with NGCP and or distribution utilities for permitting, interconnection applications, energization, and grid compliance tests
Background in power system design, substation and transmission line design, electrical layout and single-line diagrams, grounding and lightning protection
Knowledgeable in QA QC and HSE practices in construction projects
Basic proficiency in electrical engineering software such as AutoCAD, PSSE, ETAP, PLS-CADD, or equivalent tools
Experience with EPC or Owner’s Engineer role in utility-scale solar or energy infrastructure projects
