The Quality Engineer will establish and maintain quality systems for scalable production of renewable ocean energy technologies, ensuring safety, consistency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and assembly processes.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) for production processes
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and inspection strategies in collaboration with design engineers
Lead root cause investigations and drive improvements using RCCA methodologies
Support and prepare for ISO9001 certification and other quality audits
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to embed quality into daily operations
Manage and lead a small team of quality engineers and specialists
Drive continuous quality improvements aligned with business objectives and production scale-up plans
Requirements
5 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams in a Quality role
2 years of experience authoring and maintaining quality procedures in a production environment such as a shop, high bay, factory floor, or clean room
Experience leading a small team of engineers and specialists
Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes
Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to finish
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Ability to travel to vendors and supplier sites as needed
Comfortable working on-site with the team engineering, manufacturing, and operations
