Job Description

This role involves supporting the EVP of Strategy in managing investor relations, communications, and commercial partnerships within a renewable ocean energy company, requiring a versatile individual capable of handling a wide range of strategic, operational, and communication tasks to help scale the company's innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the EVP's calendar, travel, and meeting logistics
Prepare briefing documents, talking points, and background materials for meetings
Draft presentations, one-pagers, and pitch materials
Update and collaborate on financial models and produce data visualizations
Draft written communications such as emails, investor updates, and internal memos
Maintain and organize the CRM for investors, partners, and contacts
Support PR and communications efforts, including content creation and media outreach
Assist with preparation, logistics, and follow-up for meetings, board events, and conferences
Attend meetings and events to support or represent the company

Requirements

2-4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, or a high-growth startup in an operational or strategic role
Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree such as MBA, MS, or equivalent is a strong plus
Expert-level proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including updating and collaborating on financial models, unit economics, scenario analyses, financing structures, and producing clean data visualizations
Proficiency in investor-grade presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, or Figma, with the ability to draft presentations, one-pagers, and pitch materials
Exceptional written communication skills able to condense complex ideas into clear, concise bullets and headlines, and adapt style for various audiences
Strong analytical instincts with the ability to build models, catch errors, and tell a clear story with data
Demonstrated extreme ownership and comfort working under tight deadlines, with incomplete information, and handling senior-level scrutiny
Strong affinity for and facility with technology, including AI tools, CRMs, productivity software, and emerging technologies
Experience in or strong interest in technology-oriented, engineering-driven companies, with bonus familiarity with energy, AI infrastructure, data center, or climate tech markets
Willingness to work in a hybrid role based in Portland, OR, with the ability to spend significant time in Portland, and willingness to relocate if necessary (relocation assistance provided)
Ability to work nonstandard hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel on short notice to meetings, conferences, and events
