The Configuration Architect will design and implement infrastructure and processes to support engineering release systems and digital thread integration, enabling scalable manufacturing and deployment of ocean-based renewable energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement infrastructure, processes, and tools to support engineering release systems and digital thread.
Build and maintain a model-based engineering environment to enable efficient product release, manufacturing, and scaling.
Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the engineering release process and associated infrastructure.
Lead the implementation of Model-Based Definition and Digital Product Definition practices.
Identify and address process and tool gaps to improve release velocity and system performance.
Integrate PLM data and infrastructure with broader digital thread and scaling initiatives.
Collaborate with teams to align configuration management practices with design, manufacturing, and business needs.
Develop documentation, training, and governance practices to support system adoption and compliance.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee system customization, integration, and implementation projects.
Provide technical leadership in PLM system administration, customization, and API development.
Develop and maintain the long-term PLM roadmap aligned with enterprise architecture and digital transformation goals.
Requirements
Ten (10) years of experience administering and supporting PLM systems in high-consequence industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, or automotive.
Experience architecting and maintaining configuration management systems for production environments handling many thousands of configuration items.
Deep knowledge of configuration management standards and frameworks, e.g., CMII certification or equivalent experience.
Strong technical foundation in engineering, computer science, or information systems.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Track record of hands-on implementation and improvement of release processes and PLM integrations.
Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM system for ten (10) years.
Experience deploying model-based definition in a production environment.
Familiarity with digital thread strategy, including ERP, MES, and CAD system integrations.
Experience working at early-stage or rapidly scaling hardware companies.
Ability to travel to vendors and test sites as needed.
Intermittent availability to work longer hours and weekends to support critical needs.
