The role involves leading end-to-end product strategy and execution for Palmetto's consumer financing platform, focusing on origination, underwriting, onboarding, and servicing, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth, improve efficiency, and develop innovative solutions in the clean energy finance sector.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end product strategy and execution for consumer financing platform segments
Manage and prioritize the product backlog, collaborating with engineering and stakeholders
Develop and execute the product roadmap for origination and servicing components
Evaluate and refine product strategy based on data, experiments, and market signals
Identify and build solutions to drive growth in financing and expand into new markets and asset classes
Integrate external platforms, capital providers, and data sources to accelerate growth
Conduct ongoing research and analysis to develop deep customer insights
Translate customer insights into problem definitions and solutions
Build relationships across internal teams to influence prioritization and actions
Apply modern product development practices, including discovery, validation, and iteration
Leverage AI tools and data capabilities to improve discovery cycles and team productivity
Requirements
7 to 10 years of product management experience, with meaningful time in consumer finance origination, servicing, capital markets, credit risk, or adjacent domains.
Background in B2B home improvement, solar, or consumer-facing financial products is strongly preferred.
Experience at a high-growth startup or during a period of significant product portfolio scaling is a strong plus.
Proven track record owning a roadmap, leading sprint execution, and shipping independently.
Deep fluency with platform workflows, API integrations, and decisioning systems connecting internal and third-party tools.
Strong analytical orientation comfortable defining metrics, pulling data, and connecting quantitative signals to product decisions.
Experience running experiments, learning from failure, and using those learnings to move faster.
High emotional intelligence (EQ) in communication and influencing cross-functional teams without relying on authority.
Bias toward action, able to disambiguate fast, move toward clarity, and know when to go hands-on.
Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable starting from zero and building something meaningful from scratch.
Ability to develop deep understanding of Palmetto’s origination and servicing workflows, data models, and key integrations within the first year.
Ability to ship meaningful product improvements that demonstrate measurable impact on growth, efficiency, or portfolio quality within the first year.
Ability to establish strong working relationships across Capital, Platform, Data, and Operations teams within the first year.
Capability to operate largely autonomously, driving roadmap decisions, managing backlog, and running sprint activities with minimal supervision within the first year.
Ability to define OKRs for your domain and track progress against them using credible data within the first year.
