Job Description

A Senior Data Analyst at Palmetto is responsible for analyzing and visualizing data to support operational and strategic decisions within the Capital team, while also enhancing Palmetto's AI-driven analytics tools and data documentation processes.

Key Responsibilities

Answer and own data-driven questions for the Capital team, including analysis and visualization of data.
Engineer improved analyses and methods related to quality verification, equipment tracking, and operational processes.
Update and enhance Palmetto's BI tools and develop a conversational, AI-assisted analytics interface.
Collaborate with multiple teams to uncover opportunities, communicate insights, and ensure smooth data-driven processes.
Centralize and organize complex data knowledge across various platforms to support scalable analytics.
Contribute to the development and scaling of internal conversational analytics tools using AI technologies.

Requirements

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and any BI tool (such as Snowflake, dbt, Looker, and Hex).
At least 3 years of experience in data analysis with proven success collaborating with business stakeholders.
Understanding of statistics and analytics, with the ability to discriminate between valid and less valid analyses, and to communicate analytical results to a business audience.
Experience using AI to speed up development processes, specifically with Gemini and Claude.
Ability to work across multiple data analytics tools including ad-hoc queries, reporting database updates, visualization-building, notebook-writing, and AI-scaling.
Experience in uncovering hidden flags and opportunities within data and communicating findings clearly to the business.
Ability to serve raw query results, visualizations, or notebooks depending on the business ask, and to balance providing a quick good enough answer with working towards an excellent future answer.
Experience in centralizing and organizing complex data knowledge across Slack, Google Sheets, SQL, and other platforms to scale AI-assisted analytics.
Ability to play a central role in rolling out a conversational analytics interface responsibly, including understanding prompt engineering and smart guardrails.
Enthusiasm and proactiveness in solving important business problems without waiting for explicit direction.
