An Electrical Engineering Intern will support the design, planning, and construction of utility-scale solar energy projects by producing technical drawings, participating in project development, and gaining hands-on experience in electrical systems and renewable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Produce AutoCAD-based designs and drawings for solar projects
Manage electrical engineering projects and produce construction plan sets
Participate in detailed design of utility-scale solar and energy storage systems, including interconnection design
Contribute to project kickoff and completion meetings
Provide feedback and support to internal teams throughout project lifecycle
Requirements
Enrolled in a BS or master's level degree program, majoring in Electrical or Design engineering.
Beginning knowledge of the National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, the International Building Code and other related codes and standards.
Beginning knowledge of AC power distribution and transmission systems.
Proven AutoCAD and other graphical skills.
Willingness to learn ETAP and other electrical design software.
Hands-on construction experience and a practical understanding about the electrical trades.
Excellent professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Technology savvy with advanced computer skills, including demonstrated ability with MS Office, MS Windows, and project tracking software.
Strong attention to detail and the organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
