Job Description
An Electrical Engineering Intern will support the design, planning, and construction of utility-scale solar energy projects by producing technical drawings, participating in project development, and gaining hands-on experience in electrical systems and renewable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce AutoCAD-based designs and drawings for solar projects
- Manage electrical engineering projects and produce construction plan sets
- Participate in detailed design of utility-scale solar and energy storage systems, including interconnection design
- Contribute to project kickoff and completion meetings
- Provide feedback and support to internal teams throughout project lifecycle
Requirements
- Enrolled in a BS or master's level degree program, majoring in Electrical or Design engineering.
- Beginning knowledge of the National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, the International Building Code and other related codes and standards.
- Beginning knowledge of AC power distribution and transmission systems.
- Proven AutoCAD and other graphical skills.
- Willingness to learn ETAP and other electrical design software.
- Hands-on construction experience and a practical understanding about the electrical trades.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Technology savvy with advanced computer skills, including demonstrated ability with MS Office, MS Windows, and project tracking software.
- Strong attention to detail and the organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
