The Lead Technician at Origis Energy is responsible for providing technical leadership, ensuring safety, quality, and performance of solar energy systems, and managing site operations and maintenance activities to support the company's renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee site safety programs, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues, perform inspections, and resolve operational problems.
Operate and maintain solar plant equipment, including managing maintenance schedules and inventory of spare parts.
Provide technical training and mentorship to site technicians to ensure operational excellence.
Support contractors and OEM vendors, oversee work quality, and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities.
Requirements
Valid Driver's License
Inverter Specialist or Solar Technician with 3 years experience
Knowledgeable of renewable energy peculiarities expertise in DC array technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical schematics
Ability to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervision
Ability to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 Lbs.
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Minimum Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Training for General Industry, NFPA 70E Workplace Electrical Safety, First Aid, CPR, AED
Position is safety sensitive, requiring adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures
Operate and maintain the plant in compliance with established standards and procedures
Troubleshoot electrical components using equipment such as digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and IV curve tracers
Perform daily mechanical and electrical inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and optimally
Manage and support contractors and OEM vendors ensuring proper documentation, work orders, and inventory control
Maintain site vegetation through routine mowing and spraying
May be required to work outside of normal business hours and maintain on-call rotation schedule
