Job Description
The Lead Solar Technician provides technical leadership and operational management for solar sites, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are met while supervising site teams and supporting maintenance and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- •Manage site safety programs, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- •Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues to maintain optimal plant performance
- •Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and documentation of equipment and inventory
- •Operate and maintain solar plant equipment in accordance with standards and procedures
- •Support team development through training, mentorship, and talent rotation
- •Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure proper maintenance and spare parts management
- •Maintain site vegetation and perform physical activities as needed
Requirements
- •Valid Driver's License
- •Inverter Specialist or Solar Technician with 3 years experience
- •Knowledgeable of renewable energy peculiarities and expertise in DC array technology
- •Excellent written and oral communication skills
- •Ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical schematics
- •Ability to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervision
- •Ability to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 Lbs.
- •Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- •Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- •Minimum Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Training for General Industry, NFPA 70E Workplace Electrical Safety, First Aid, CPR, AED
- •Must be able to work nights, weekends, and outside normal hours as required
- •Maintain on-call rotation schedule
- •Position is safety sensitive; all Solar Technician jobs are safety sensitive positions
