Job Description
A Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer responsible for installing and demonstrating smart meters to customers, providing energy-saving advice, and supporting the renewable energy revolution while delivering excellent customer service within the Octopus Energy Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install dual fuel smart meters in customers' homes
- Demonstrate how meters and in-home displays work to customers
- Explain energy-saving benefits and answer customer questions about green energy
- Ensure safety and customer service excellence during installations
- Support the customer with understanding and using their smart meters and displays
Requirements
- Experience as a smart meter engineer with a proven track record of safety and customer excellence.
- Ability to represent the company's brands professionally in customers' homes.
- Comfortable communicating with customers, including explaining how meters and in-home displays work, how they can help save energy, and answering questions about green energy initiatives.
- Willingness to perform meter installations and provide customer education during visits.
- Ability to work as part of the Octopus Energy Services team, supporting company performance goals.
- Capability to adapt to evolving processes and technologies to improve service delivery and reduce administrative tasks.
- Availability to participate in a process that typically takes up to 4 weeks, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with the recruitment team and support staff throughout the hiring process.
- Willingness to request and accept reasonable accommodations or preferences during the interview process to ensure comfort and fairness.
