Job Description

A Digital Marketing Specialist responsible for managing and optimizing paid media campaigns, with a focus on digital advertising tailored to Japanese consumers. The role involves agile planning, execution, and analysis to support the growth of Octopus Energy and enhance customer experience through data-driven and human-centered marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize all paid media campaigns focused on digital advertising.
  • Develop, execute, and adjust media plans based on market trends, public sentiment, and consumer needs in Japan.
  • Analyze website and ad performance metrics to improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Implement acquisition and retention funnels to grow customer base.
  • Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven optimizations.
  • Understand human behavior and brand perception to inform marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience in digital advertising, paid media, or related fields with a focus on digital marketing.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and optimize media campaigns using an agile advertising approach.
  • Proficiency in quickly grasping circumstances, trends, public sentiment, and daily life needs of Japanese consumers to inform advertising strategies.
  • Knowledge of website and ad performance analysis, campaign optimization, and acquisition and retention funnels.
  • Ability to analyze metrics related to digital advertising performance and derive actionable insights.
  • Understanding of human behavior, brand perception, and why consumers choose certain brands, even when it seems illogical.
  • Experience or ability to contribute to the growth and expansion of a company through digital marketing efforts.
  • Strong motivation and a proactive attitude to take charge of all paid media activities.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within an in-house team and manage all stages of corporate activities related to advertising, sales, UX, development, and media buying.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on effectiveness and efficiency, prioritizing immediate needs over long-term plans.
  • Accountability and responsibility to deliver results without reliance on rigid processes or extensive business cases.
  • Experience or familiarity with energy or technology sectors is not mandatory but may be advantageous.
  • Physical and mental capacity to handle the demands of a role that involves continuous monitoring and adjustment of campaigns in a rapidly changing environment.
