Job Description
This role involves developing and maintaining software systems related to autonomous driving technology, including data management, simulation, and infrastructure, to support Nuro's self-driving vehicle platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the Data Platform for AI Driver data, labels, and metrics, including data ingestion, annotation, and introspection.
- Build and maintain the simulator environment for developing and testing autonomous driving technology, including sensor simulation and scenario generation.
- Develop and support core technical infrastructure services such as compute platforms, storage management, cloud infrastructure, and engineering productivity tools.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in software engineering or related fields.
- A Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C, or Go.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: large-scale distributed systems, data storage and processing systems, modern microservice architecture, machine learning, multithreading, x86 architecture and software performance tuning and optimization, robotics software frameworks, or different compute modalities such as CPU, GPU, FPGA.
- Ability to work on data annotation across various domains including 2D perception, 3D perception, mapping, behavior trajectory, and language text.
- Experience with data ingestion and mining employing methods such as heuristics and embedding search.
- Experience supporting autonomy evaluation infrastructure by providing detailed introspection.
- Ability to develop and test autonomous driving technology in simulation environments, including sensor simulation and scenario generation, integrating real-world data with synthetic techniques.
- Experience working with or owning services related to compute platforms, storage management, cloud infrastructure (IaaC), and engineering productivity tools such as build systems and CI/CD pipelines.
