Job Description
A software engineering intern at Nuro will collaborate with experts in machine learning, robotics, and software to develop and improve autonomous driving technology across various systems such as data platforms, onboard systems, ML infrastructure, simulation, and technical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and facilitate access to AI Driver data, labels, and metrics within the Data Platform.
- Develop and maintain onboard systems to ensure reliable integration of autonomy software and hardware.
- Create solutions to accelerate machine learning development, including distributed training and inference optimization.
- Build and improve simulation frameworks for testing autonomous driving technology in virtual environments.
- Maintain and operate fundamental engineering services such as compute platforms, data storage, cloud infrastructure, and development tools.
Requirements
- You are a current BS or MS candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field graduating in December 2026 or later.
- You have experience in one or more of the following areas: backend API design, applications development, large-scale distributed systems, data storage and processing systems, advanced algorithms using C and Python, machine learning, multithreading, x86 architecture and software performance tuning and optimization, robotics software frameworks, and different compute modalities such as CPU, GPU, FPGA.
- You have strong problem solving and programming skills.
