Job Description
The role involves leading system-level safety architecture and analysis for autonomous vehicle hardware and firmware, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating with engineering teams to validate safety mechanisms for self-driving systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive system-level safety architecture and requirements for Autonomy Hardware and Firmware, ensuring compliance with automotive safety standards.
- Decompose vehicle safety goals into Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC), defining safety mechanisms and fault management strategies.
- Develop system-level SOTIF specifications for safety-critical systems like sensors and compute units.
- Lead and review safety analyses such as Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA).
- Collaborate with engineering teams and external partners to review and improve safety requirements and test plans.
- Support verification and validation efforts by reviewing tests, suggesting additional tests, and analyzing test data to validate safety mechanisms.
Requirements
- Hands on experience in systems engineering and automotive functional safety ISO 26262 including requirements generation.
- At least 3 years of experience in system architecture for safety critical systems.
- At least 3 years of experience working on fault management or diagnostics systems for automotive applications.
- Ability to read code in C and write code in Python and MATLAB.
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
