Job Description
A Senior Staff Software Engineer at Nuro will lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines and tools for autonomous vehicle AI systems, collaborating across teams to improve data quality, enable active learning, and support machine learning research and deployment in autonomous driving applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines for autonomy data.
- Improve data quality, detect anomalies, and manage out-of-distribution examples for robust model training.
- Collaborate with autonomy and data infrastructure teams to develop ML data pipelines and products.
- Create infrastructure and visualization tools for ML researchers to introspect data and identify failure modes.
- Work with data operations to define quality standards, automate quality control, and streamline annotation feedback.
- Lead the development of active learning data mining engines to optimize data labeling and sampling.
Requirements
- 7 years of experience with a proven track record of technical leadership architecting and delivering complex, multi-system ML data engineering data systems.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of end-to-end ML data pipelines and their interaction with model training and evaluation.
- Strong proficiency in C and Python, with petabyte-level data management experience.
- Experience taking data concepts e.g., uncertainty sampling and turning them into stable, 24/7 production services.
