Job Description
The Controls Engineer will develop and optimize control software for autonomous vehicles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure vehicle performance, safety, and integration of Nuro's self-driving technology into various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop robust, reliable, and optimized production-level control software adhering to safety standards ISO 26262.
- Collaborate with OEM engineers and internal teams to define vehicle and control software requirements for integrating Nuro Driver into new vehicle platforms.
- Adapt control software stack to meet the needs of new vehicle platforms.
- Conduct vehicle bring-up, controls tuning, testing, and debugging to achieve desired vehicle performance, quality, and drivability targets.
Requirements
- MS in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, robotics, or closely related fields with focus on Controls
- 3 years of experience in development of L2 or higher level automated driving controls software and integration with vehicle platform s
- Implementation of classical and modern controls methods and or ML for Controls
- Strong embedded C preferred or C programming skills
- Proven ability to collaborate within and across teams
- Effective oral and written communication skills
