Job Description
A Software Engineer role focused on developing and implementing synthetic sensor simulation models and algorithms for autonomous vehicles, with an emphasis on machine learning, sensor data realism, and collaboration across autonomy teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and implement synthetic sensor simulation methods
- Analyze and evaluate the realism and utility of synthetic sensor data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on map requirements and sensor data needs
Requirements
- A PhD in machine learning, computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field, and 3 years of industry experience, OR a Master's degree and 4 years of industry experience, OR 5 years of industry experience.
- Deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals with hands-on experience in training and evaluating modern ML models.
- Strong Python skills with experience in deep learning frameworks, e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax.
- Research, development, and implementation experience of state-of-the-art synthetic sensor simulation methods.
- Ability to analyze and characterize the realism and utility of synthetic sensor data.
- Experience in answering critical questions about sensor data and autonomy performance.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders across autonomy, infrastructure, and systems teams on map needs and requirements.
