Job Description
A Product Manager at Nuro is responsible for developing and scaling tools and solutions to optimize the operations of autonomous vehicles, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in commercial deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Empathize with operators to understand their workflows
- Inform the operations roadmap by identifying necessary products
- Lead the design and development of tools to scale operations
- Define and communicate product goals, requirements, and constraints
- Identify root causes of problems and incorporate feedback into solutions
- Measure success and develop tactics to improve product impact
Requirements
- Experience building tools with engineers and the ability to be the technical representative in conversations without engineers.
- Proactive and self-directed with the ability to independently identify priorities and take accountability for projects.
- Strong skills in creating structure and extracting principles for complex or messy systems.
- Ability to surface the most crucial unanswered questions and drive to answers.
- Experience extracting important insights from available data, even if sparse or imperfect, and identifying valuable data that is missing and how to collect it.
- Deep empathy for customers, with the ability to fully internalize their needs and intuitively understand the best ways to meet them.
- Ability to develop and communicate product goals, requirements, and constraints clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience defining success metrics, measuring progress, and developing creative tactics to push project pace.
- Knowledge of the value and priority level for every product and feature, understanding their impact on customers and the business overall.
- Ability to understand and analyze workflows of operators to inform operations roadmap.
- Experience in building scalable tools and solutions that directly influence operational efficiency and the number of operators needed per vehicle.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Design, Engineering, Strategy, Business Development, and Legal.
- Ability to surface problems, understand root causes, and synthesize feedback from internal experts and experiments to inform solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for collecting input and presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, engineering, or related roles (implied by the seniority and scope of responsibilities).
