Job Description

A Product Manager at Nuro is responsible for developing and scaling innovative tools to optimize the operations of autonomous vehicles, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, define product goals, and drive impactful solutions that improve safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Empathize with operators to understand their workflows
  • Inform the operations roadmap by identifying necessary products for safe and efficient service
  • Lead the design and development of tools to scale operational capabilities
  • Define and communicate product goals, requirements, and constraints
  • Identify and analyze root causes of problems within operations
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from experts and experiments to improve solutions
  • Measure success and develop tactics to accelerate progress

Requirements

  • Experience building tools with engineers and the ability to be the technical representative in conversations without engineers.
  • Proactive and self-directed with the ability to independently identify priorities, take accountability for projects, and execute on them without needing detailed instructions.
  • Ability to create structure and extract principles from complex or messy systems, and to surface the most crucial unanswered questions and drive towards answers.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to extract important insights from available data, even if sparse or imperfect, and to identify valuable data that is missing and how to collect it.
  • Deep empathy for customers and users, with the ability to fully internalize their needs and intuitively understand the best ways to meet them.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collect input and present insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to understand the value and priority level for every product and feature, both for the customer and the business overall.
  • Experience in product management or related roles involving driving high-impact initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Design, Engineering, Strategy, Business Development, and Legal.
  • Understanding of what it takes to operate a safe and efficient commercial service, with the ability to inform operations roadmaps and define product requirements to scale operations.
  • Ability to define, measure, and track success metrics, and to develop creative tactics to push project progress.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and operational scaling.

Benefits & Perks

Compensation/salary range: $160,360 to $240,540 base pay, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package
