Job Description
A Sr. Data Scientist at Nuro will analyze and develop machine learning models to optimize autonomous vehicle fleet management, supporting data-driven decision-making and operational performance in a cutting-edge robotics company.
Key Responsibilities
- Define key metrics and perform deep-dive analyses to inform fleet management and deployment strategies
- Design, develop, and own machine learning and statistical models from problem definition to production deployment
- Create and maintain visualization dashboards to monitor operational performance and provide actionable insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect data and define relevant metrics
- Communicate findings and insights to engineering and business stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making
Requirements
- MS degree required or PhD degree preferable in a Sciences major such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Operation Research or equivalent areas.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in statistical estimation, performing analyses that inform decision-making; for PhD candidates, at least 2 years of industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with standard statistical methods such as linear and logistic regression, Support Vector Machines (SVM), confidence intervals, and significance testing, along with expertise in causal inference analysis.
- Expertise in writing custom SQL and experience with database design.
- Knowledge of a scripting language R or Python to manipulate and analyze data and develop statistical models.
- Sound statistical inference skills, with the ability to communicate uncertainty appropriately to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Experience designing metrics and building mechanisms to fuel business insights.
- Excellent communication skills.
