Job Description

The Electrician will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and safety of Nexamp's renewable energy systems. The role involves field-based electrical work, diagnostics, and collaboration with team members to support the company's clean energy mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled field maintenance of solar PV infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify faults or deviations
  • Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics on solar systems
  • Maintain and document maintenance reports, track cases, and mitigate equipment underperformance
  • Maintain relationships with customers, partners, and subcontractors
  • Ensure safety compliance and maintain equipment and PPE
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and assist with process improvements
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications, procure materials and equipment as needed

Requirements

  • Possess an electrical license in good standing.
  • Have 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical work, specifically related to solar PV infrastructure.
  • Hold a driver’s license in good standing.
  • Have OSHA certification.
  • Ability to use ladders and work at heights.
  • Experience with battery systems is strongly preferred.
  • Possess highly developed electrical and PV related troubleshooting skills and expertise.
  • Fully understand principles and safe operation of grid-tied, commercial PV, and ancillary electrical systems.
  • Ability to conduct electrical testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of solar PV systems.
  • Ability to identify and document faults, specification drawing deviations, safety violations, etc.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of company, vendor, partner, and subcontractor capabilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and assist with process improvement.
  • Proficiency in office skills including the use of computers, Microsoft Office, data acquisition systems, communications, and remote computing.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, cellular, fiber, and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications and procure materials and equipment when required.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Experience showcasing initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.

  • Physical ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance tasks, including working at heights and using ladders.
