Job Description

The Senior Construction Superintendent oversees solar construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance while managing site teams, subcontractors, and project progress to support Nexamp's clean energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of site construction teams and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and construction standards on job sites
  • Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development of site personnel
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend staffing or scope adjustments
  • Manage and review project documentation, including QA/QC reports and inspection logs
  • Represent the company in interactions with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Provide operational advice and insights to senior leadership on construction performance and improvements

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of construction management experience, preferably in the solar industry, with a successful track record in project management.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, with OSHA 10 certification being a minimum requirement.
  • Maintains professional licenses in trade, such as CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and various other construction management tools.
  • Understanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as required for the role.
  • Valid and current Driver's License.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce company policies, OSHA, SWPPP, and site-specific standards in dynamic field conditions.
  • Experience in supervising and managing site-level personnel, including assigning roles, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback.
  • Experience in evaluating subcontractor performance and making recommendations that influence contract renewal, termination, or future engagement decisions.
  • Final responsibility for review and close out of compliance documentation, QA/QC reports, and inspection logs within Procore or other systems of record.
  • Ability to lead onboarding and ongoing training of site-level superintendents and field personnel.
  • Ability to monitor project progress and risks, and recommend changes to staffing, scheduling, or scope to meet project objectives.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively conveying information, ideas, and perspectives with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Experience in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
  • Commitment to the company's mission and a passion for solving climate change issues.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties in a construction site environment (implied by supervisory role in active construction sites).
