Job Description

The Senior Construction Superintendent oversees solar construction projects, managing site teams, ensuring safety and compliance, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the performance of contingent Construction Superintendents across solar project sites.
  • Assign site leadership roles, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met; respond to issues by stopping work or mandating changes.
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and make recommendations regarding contracts and future engagements.
  • Enforce company policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific regulations in field conditions.
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training for site personnel and superintendents.
  • Monitor project progress, assess risks, and recommend staffing, scheduling, or scope adjustments.
  • Oversee the review and completion of compliance documentation, QA/QC reports, and inspection logs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on solar construction methods, compliance, and site logistics.
  • Advise senior leadership on operational performance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the company in dealings with subcontractors, vendors, and on-site stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of construction management experience, preferably in the solar industry, with a successful track record in project management.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, with OSHA 10 certification being a minimum requirement.
  • Maintains professional licenses in trade, such as CSL, NABCEP PV, or equivalent certifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and various other construction management tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required for the role.
  • Valid and current Driver's License.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce company policies, OSHA, SWPPP, and site-specific standards in dynamic field conditions.
  • Experience in supervising and managing site personnel, including assigning roles, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback.
  • Ability to evaluate subcontractor performance and provide recommendations that influence contract renewal, termination, or future engagement decisions.
  • Final responsibility for review and close-out of compliance documentation, QA/QC reports, and inspection logs within Procore or other systems of record.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on solar construction methods, compliance, and site logistics.
  • Ability to advise senior leadership on operational performance, training standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Demonstrated initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.

  • Physical ability to perform job duties in a construction environment, including site supervision and safety oversight.
