Job Description
The Construction Services Manager at Nexamp is responsible for overseeing civil, electrical, and structural aspects of renewable energy projects, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and leading multiple projects from development to completion in a remote California-based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites
- Conduct field walks, assist in value engineering, and support project design and permitting
- Develop, bid, and ensure adherence to scopes of work for subcontractors
- Coordinate and manage project schedules and deliverables
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost savings initiatives
- Work with site supervisors to develop risk assessments, safety plans, and jobsite safety briefings
- Oversee the design, permitting, and construction of renewable energy assets
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements
- Manage subcontractor relationships and oversee project milestones and timelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline (preferred)
- California General Contractors License Class A (required)
- 10 years of construction management experience (solar renewable energy experience preferred)
- Act as a subject matter expert on construction sites
- Strong leadership and project management skills with a focus on efficiency and safety
- Advanced knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Ability to oversee the design, permitting, and building of renewable energy assets
- Ensure compliance at a regulatory and California licensing board level
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
