Job Description
This role involves door-to-door sales and community engagement to promote and enroll customers in Nexamp's community solar programs, supporting the expansion of clean energy adoption in the Maine region through face-to-face interactions and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel within assigned territory to engage residential customers and promote the community-solar program
- Present the value proposition of solar-subscription products and explain benefits to customers
- Achieve enrollment targets through door-to-door interactions and follow-ups
- Maintain accurate CRM records of contacts, interactions, and outcomes
- Work independently and collaboratively to maximize sales and customer engagement
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth customer onboarding and experience
- Represent the company professionally in various weather conditions and terrains
Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of sales experience, with field-sales preferred but strong drive and coachability matter most.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven persistence and resilience, with the ability to expect rejection and bounce back stronger.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with homeowners.
- Comfortable working outdoors, walking neighborhoods, and working a field schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to safely travel across your territory.
- Self-motivated, coachable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, etc., and digital sales tools is preferred.
- Fluency in English; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for sustainability, renewable energy, or customer advocacy.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or engagement goals.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
- Ability to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
