Job Description

The Asset Management Accounting Manager at Nexamp is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end close processes, and managing a team within the company's asset management division, with a focus on supporting clean energy projects and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for corporate and project entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Manage and oversee a team of accountants, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining annual budgets and monitor budget-to-actuals for all projects.
  • Lead ERP system improvement projects to enhance process efficiency, working with third-party consultants and internal departments.
  • Design and implement accounting processes for new business operations in compliance with relevant accounting principles.
  • Supervise invoice creation, deposits, collections, and KPI reporting in collaboration with the Asset Management department.
  • Coordinate with auditors during project and consolidated audits, providing documentation and supporting financial disclosures.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of Public Accounting or 5-6 years of private accounting experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the ability to do research to find solutions for accounting issues.
  • Experience with accounting systems, with NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the accounting team, executive management, and all departments across the organization.
  • Strict attention to detail, ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to think critically, be proactive, and problem solve.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Experience in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
