Job Description
The Associate, Project Finance at Nexamp is responsible for supporting the financial modeling, risk management, and financing strategies of renewable energy projects, collaborating with various teams to grow and optimize the company's renewable energy portfolio and secure project funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage financial models to assess project and portfolio risk, ensuring financial hurdle rates are met.
- Collaborate with business units to inform strategic and tactical planning based on comprehensive understanding of development activities.
- Mentor analysts in creating complex financial models for renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle, including ownership structures.
- Support and coordinate with management to arrange, negotiate, and execute various financing structures for project portfolios.
- Work cross-functionally with EPC, Community Solar, and Development teams to optimize project financing solutions.
- Develop value propositions by understanding financial incentive programs in target markets.
- Represent the company professionally to investors, partners, and vendors.
- Lead the creation of investment theses and value propositions for projects and investments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in solar project finance, capital markets, or related financial roles.
- Experience in developing, creating, generating, and enhancing dynamic complex project and company-level financial models for the entire life cycle of renewable energy projects, including layering in complex ownership partnership structures.
- Experience supporting and collaborating on arranging, negotiating, and executing various types of financing structures for portfolios of projects across the asset life cycle.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as EPC, Community Solar, and Development to optimize financing solutions.
- Ability to develop value propositions by understanding financial incentive programs in key target markets.
- Experience in representing the company professionally to investors, partners, and vendors.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
- Experience showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
