Job Description
The VP of Business Development at Orbitworks will lead the sales team, build a strong sales pipeline, and establish the company's presence in satellite manufacturing and operations, focusing initially on government and defense sectors in the Middle East and expanding into global commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Business Development Sales team, including two direct reports.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on government and defense sectors locally and commercial sectors globally.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to position Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the UAE and beyond.
- Leverage existing network to open doors and close deals with governments, MoDs, and defense contractors across the Middle East.
- Drive market expansion efforts to establish Orbitworks as a key player in the satellite industry.
Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience in a senior business development or sales role, with proven ability to lead a team with at least 2 direct reports.
- Existing leadership experience in business development or sales management is essential.
- Proven track record of opening doors and closing deals with governments, Ministries of Defense (MoDs), and defense contractors across the Middle East region, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
- Strong network within the government, defense, and satellite manufacturing sectors in the Middle East.
- Experience in developing and executing strategic vision, customer engagement, and market expertise to meet ambitious organizational goals.
- Ability to build and develop a strong sales pipeline focused initially on government and defense sectors, with the capacity to expand into commercial sectors on a global scale.
- Experience in positioning a company as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations, particularly within the UAE or similar markets.
- Familiarity with the satellite manufacturing industry, including mass production processes and operations, is preferred.
- Ability to operate in a hands-on leadership style, actively engaging in sales and business development activities.
- Experience working in or with organizations deploying physical and virtual missions to space is desirable.
