Job Description
The Virtual Mission Execution Lead is responsible for leading the development and execution of virtual space missions, managing cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of mission capabilities, and collaborating with various internal teams to achieve mission success in a fast-paced, innovative space environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Virtual Missions for customers and partners.
- Partner with Product and Program Management teams to ensure timely development and seamless integration of mission capabilities and features.
- Oversee Virtual Mission Managers and Systems Engineering functions, providing direct management.
- Provide clarity and direction to internal teams to ensure efficient solutions and mission success.
- Use leadership, technical skills, and judgment to drive solutions and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with Customer Operations to ensure smooth transition from mission development to on-orbit operations.
Requirements
- Experience leading teams responsible for developing and executing Virtual Missions or similar space operations.
- Ability to partner with Product and Program Management teams to ensure capabilities and features needed for missions are developed on time and seamlessly integrated into the mission deployment customer experience.
- Oversight of Virtual Mission Managers and Virtual Mission Systems Engineering functions, including direct management of individuals in those roles.
- Strong leadership skills, technical aptitude, and programmatic judgment to drive solutions and mitigate risks.
- Ability to predict issues and see around corners to stay ahead of potential problems.
- Experience partnering with Customer Operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from mission development to on-orbit operations and achieve mission success.
- Strong English communication skills to collaborate effectively within an international team, convey complex ideas, and communicate important messages.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to be a great communicator.
- Experience in space operations, mission development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated dedication to excellence and excitement for space operations.
- Ability to provide clarity to internal teams and focus efforts on efficient solutions for mission success.
- Experience managing or overseeing functions related to mission systems engineering and mission management.
