Job Description
A Software Engineer in Test at Loft Orbital will develop, configure, and test onboard software components for satellite missions, working on cutting-edge space technology, automation infrastructure, and real-time problem solving for live missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, configure, and deploy onboard software components for satellite missions
- Develop, test, and release onboard software to ensure mission success
- Extend and adapt onboard software to fit specific satellite architectures and requirements
- Work on real-time troubleshooting and problem-solving during live missions
- Build and maintain automated infrastructure for software development and deployment
Requirements
- Experience in creating, configuring, and deploying onboard software components dedicated to a program or mission.
- Ability to extend agnostic onboard software to fit a given satellite architecture and requirements.
- Experience in end-to-end testing and releasing onboard software.
- Proficiency in developing automated infrastructure related to software and space systems.
- Ability to work on real-time issues on live missions and help solve problems as they occur.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
- Fluent in English to collaborate effectively within an international team.
- Experience working with spacecraft or satellite systems is implied as relevant, given the context of onboard software for space missions.
