Job Description
A Software Engineer in Test at Loft Orbital will develop, configure, and deploy onboard software components for satellite missions, perform end-to-end testing, and work on real-time issues during live missions, contributing to the integration of software and space technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, configure, and deploy onboard software components for satellite missions
- Develop and perform end-to-end testing of onboard software
- Extend and adapt onboard software to fit specific satellite architectures and requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues during live missions
- Participate in SatDevOps training to operate spacecraft
Requirements
- Experience in creating, configuring, and deploying onboard software components dedicated to a program or mission.
- Ability to extend agnostic onboard software to fit a given satellite architecture and requirements.
- Experience in the development, end-to-end testing, and releasing of onboard software.
- Proficiency in building modern automated infrastructure related to software and space technology.
- Ability to work on real-time issues on live missions and help solve problems as they occur.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
- Fluent in English to collaborate effectively within an international team and convey complex ideas.
- Educational background or experience sufficient to perform the above tasks (specific degree requirements are not explicitly stated, but implied technical expertise is necessary).
