Job Description
A Ground Software Solutions Engineer at Loft Orbital develops and maintains custom ground software for space missions, working on mission control, scheduling, and real-time problem solving, while contributing to the integration of software and space technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom ground software capabilities for clients.
- Configure and extend Mission Control and Scheduling Software for specific mission needs.
- Deliver custom features to support mission deployment and execution.
- Ensure smooth operations by connecting product capabilities with mission-specific requirements.
- Provide operational feedback and collaborate with product teams for continuous improvement.
- Work on real-time troubleshooting and problem-solving during live missions.
- Participate in SatDevOps training to operate spacecraft.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Experience with Django framework.
- Knowledge of GraphQL.
- Experience working with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Cue language.
- Proficiency in C programming language.
- Ability to develop and maintain custom ground software capabilities for customers.
- Experience configuring and extending Mission Control and Scheduling Software for specific program needs.
- Ability to deliver custom features to support mission deployment and execution.
- Experience working on real-time issues on live missions and solving problems as they occur.
- Willingness to participate in SatDevOps training to operate spacecraft.
- Ability to collaborate closely with Product teams to provide operational feedback and drive product improvement.
- Experience working in a team environment developing modern automated infrastructure that integrates software and space technology.
