Job Description

The Financial Product Manager for Bookkeeping is responsible for developing and managing Kraken's core financial systems, including ledgers and transaction processes, to ensure compliance, data integrity, and scalability while enabling client adoption and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and refine the long-term product vision for Kraken's core financial systems
  • Oversee development and improvement of core bookkeeping processes such as ledger creation, transaction accuracy, reconciliation, and auditability
  • Define product requirements to enhance data reliability, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead the development and rollout of high-value bookkeeping products like the Credit Storage Ledger
  • Act as the primary liaison between business teams (Finance, Sales, Delivery) and technical teams to align on the product roadmap and progress
  • Advise clients on optimal ledger configuration to minimize complexity and setup time for migrations
  • Use data analysis to identify risks, reduce data inconsistencies, and ensure financial audibility

Requirements

  • Experience in owning and refining the long-term product vision for core financial systems, translating market needs, regulatory trends, client requirements, and operational challenges into a clear product roadmap.
  • Overseeing the development and improvement of core bookkeeping processes such as ledger creation, transaction accuracy, reconciliation, and auditability, with the ability to define product requirements that strengthen data reliability, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leading the development and successful rollout of high-value bookkeeping products like the Credit Storage Ledger, including strategy and execution across all relevant clients and markets.
  • Acting as the primary bridge between business teams (Finance, Sales, Delivery) and technical teams to ensure that the product roadmap, mission, and progress are visible across the organization.
  • Conducting detailed discovery to advise clients on the optimal ledger configuration, minimizing complexity and setup time for new migrations.
  • Using data to identify risks, reduce data inconsistencies, and ensure financial audibility.
  • Ensuring ledgers and transaction logs are auditable for all clients in various markets, with all history and records documented.
  • Reducing financial or billing-related complaints or discrepancies through improved processes.
  • Providing clear, streamlined guidance on ledger configurations to enable faster client migrations and setups.
  • Supporting the creation of new bookkeeping solutions, such as the Credit Storage Ledger, and ensuring high adoption rates across all clients.
  • Supporting new customer segments, such as Distribution, to enable entry into new markets.
  • Ensuring compliance by maintaining accurate, complete, and auditable ledgers and transaction logs for all clients in various markets.
  • Maintaining a high level of data integrity and reducing data inconsistencies.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of financial systems and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to multiple markets.
  • Demonstrating experience in product management, ideally within financial or ledger systems, with a focus on building scalable, reliable, and compliant financial infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify risks and ensure the accuracy and auditability of financial information.
  • Excellent communication skills to act as a liaison between technical and business teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Commitment to building a robust, transparent, and auditable bookkeeping system that manages customer balances accurately and simplifies regulatory compliance.
