Job Description

The Business Development Lead at Kraken is responsible for expanding the company's presence in Europe by generating, nurturing, and closing deals with utilities and asset owners, helping to grow the customer base and market share for their innovative energy SaaS solutions focused on distributed energy resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate, nurture, and close deals with utilities and asset owners across Europe.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to design customer propositions.
  • Expand the company's new business presence and pipeline in the European region.
  • Drive growth of the client base and market share through strategic business development activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, sales, or account management within the energy or utilities sector, with a proven track record of generating, nurturing, and closing deals across a regional or international market.
  • Ability to increase new business presence and pipeline specifically within the European utilities and asset owners market.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with senior leadership, management teams, and cross-functional teams including business development, delivery, and technical teams.
  • Experience in designing and delivering customer-oriented propositions that grow client base and market share.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline and to close deals in a competitive environment.
  • Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DERs), energy markets, and SaaS subscription business models is preferred but not explicitly mandatory.
  • Willingness to work in a role that involves generating new business opportunities and expanding market presence.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for deal generation, nurturing, and closing across the region.
