Job Description
The Production Engineering Manager leads and supports manufacturing process improvements, automation projects, and quality initiatives across multiple sites to ensure efficient, standardized, and high-quality production of energy storage systems, fostering continuous improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Production Engineering teams across multiple sites to support planned growth.
- Implement continuous improvement activities and develop process controls to standardize production processes.
- Resolve complex product and production issues by collaborating with supply chain, quality, and product development teams.
- Own manufacturing processes, equipment layout, fixtures, tooling, and production documentation.
- Reduce manufacturing variability by standardizing work methods and work instructions to ensure quality standards.
- Support global contract manufacturers to meet quality, output, and communication requirements.
- Design and lead the implementation of production automation projects across sites.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to track process and production performance.
- Participate in PFMEAs to identify process improvements and drive mitigation strategies.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and LEAN Six Sigma methodologies within production sites.
- Represent the manufacturing team in quality processes and collaborate with relevant departments.
- Ensure health and safety compliance for all production processes, including risk assessments and audits.
- Liaise and communicate with departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Manage and develop the manufacturing team through effective people management practices.
Requirements
- Must be a hands-on engineer, willing to work with their team in the production environment.
- Strong technical engineering expertise gained within a manufacturing environment, with key experience required in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, and new equipment systems implementation such as automation projects.
- Experience in leading an engineering team, displaying strong and positive leadership skills.
- Experience in implementing Continuous Improvement principles to the production process.
- Ability to engage with a design team, both product and equipment, to ensure the manufacturing process is optimized and on-time delivery is achieved.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Passionate about meeting both Customer and Company expectations.
- IT literate; proficient in MS Office suite as used in-house.
- Will hold an Engineering degree qualification or demonstrate equivalent experience.
