Job Description

A Windows Systems Administrator responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and securing multi-platform systems (Windows and Linux) in classified environments, supporting IT operations, security, and automation within a high-security, on-site setting requiring active Top Secret SCI clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined team members and provide customer support
  • Troubleshoot complex system incidents independently
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and system components across multiplatform environments
  • Administer and manage Windows and Linux systems in various operational environments
  • Perform system and user account maintenance, backups, and device management
  • Resolve hardware, software, and network failures through troubleshooting
  • Test, assess, and implement security patches and system hardening measures
  • Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and conduct hardware/software audits
  • Assist in IT security incident response and documentation as needed

Requirements

  • An active Top Secret SCI security clearance and experience in classified programs is required.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Must successfully complete a polygraph.
  • Must obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification e.g., CompTIA Security , CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CISSP within 6 months of hire.
  • High School diploma or GED with 7 years of experience in a System Administration role or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Experience in Windows systems administration.
  • Understanding of multiplatform system hardening e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP.
  • Strong understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments.
  • Experience with scripting for task automation e.g., PowerShell, Batch, BASH.
  • Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing.
  • Experience with system monitoring alerting tools e.g., Nagios.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux multiplatform systems administration is desired.
  • Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 configuration, management, and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Understanding of Group Policy management is preferred.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, 9 is preferred.
  • Some experience with SAN management e.g., NetApp, Dell Unity, HPE GreenLake is preferred.
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure i.e., Citrix Virtual Apps Desktops is preferred.
  • Experience with systems management and automation software e.g., Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible, Systems Center Orchestrator is preferred.
  • Experience in multiplatform environments Windows and Linux is preferred.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing is preferred.
  • Perform physical duties including occasionally standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Work is 100% on-site, with responsibilities sometimes requiring working evenings and weekends, and up to 10 travel.
