Job Description
A Systems Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux systems in classified environments, ensuring security compliance, and supporting various technical and security operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain multiplatform hardware, software, and components
- Administer and manage Windows and Linux systems in various environments
- Perform system and user account maintenance and security hardening
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network failures
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
- Implement and test security patches and system hardening measures
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and conduct system audits
- Assist in IT security incident response and documentation
- Participate in security audits and inspections
Requirements
- An active Secret security clearance and experience in classified programs are required. The successful candidate will be upgraded to a Top Secret security clearance.
- Possess US citizenship.
- Willingness to continue learning new technologies is a must.
- Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in systems administration, network administration, or cyber security.
- Demonstrated experience in platform-specific systems administration Windows or Linux.
- Understanding of multiplatform system hardening e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP.
- Strong understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments.
- Experience with scripting for task automation e.g., PowerShell, Batch, BASH.
- Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing.
- Experience with system monitoring alerting tools e.g., Nagios.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework and working within an accredited system.
- Ability to work independently.
- High School diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in an information security role OR Associate degree in information technology, information security, computer science, or a related field with 1 year of experience in a related role.
- Must obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification e.g., CompTIA Security , CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CISSP within 6 months of hire.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- This job will also require up to 15% travel.
- This position is 100% on-site.
- Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases, with little to no advance notice.
- The applicant must be willing to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph.
- As part of your role, you will be granted privileged user access, which is subject to greater scrutiny and additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation.
- Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations.

Base salary range of $109,695 - $137,145

Work schedule requiring occasional evenings, weekends, and up to 15 travel days
