Job Description

A Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst responsible for leading budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic analysis within a defense or R&D environment, supporting senior management and ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Create, submit, and audit Forward Pricing Rates Proposal (FPRP) and Incurred Cost Submission (ICS).
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis, to senior leadership.
  • Support business strategy development with financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide data and analysis for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts to foster professional development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis within the defense or R D industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting Forward Pricing Rates Proposals (FPRP) and Incurred Cost Submission (ICS).
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with financial planning software IBM TM1 and Deltek Costpoint highly preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management and business leaders.
  • Experience in leading the financial planning and analysis process, including indirect budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting financial proposals and supporting audit processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Program Finance, Accounting, and Accounts Receivable to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting financial reports, including variance analysis, to senior leadership.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with government contracts and regulatory compliance is a plus.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
