Job Description
A Senior RF Systems Engineer responsible for designing, integrating, and testing radar and communication systems, collaborating with scientists and engineers to develop specifications, solve customer problems, and contribute to research and proposal activities within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and test radar and communication systems.
- Develop specifications for radar and communication frontend and backend components.
- Solve customer problems related to radar and communication systems.
- Perform detailed analysis and testing of RF systems and collected data.
- Use system simulators such as Simulink, VSS, and Systemvue for system modeling.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to ensure system compliance and best practices.
- Prepare technical presentations and briefings for customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, integrates and tests radar and communication systems.
- Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop specifications for radar and or communication frontend and backend components and apertures.
- Solve customer problems related to radar and communication systems.
- Write invention disclosures, publish papers, brief customers, participate in proposal activities, and assist in marketing HRL expertise.
- Familiarity with radar and or communication systems with an emphasis on one or more of the following: frontend and backend design, phased array systems, digital signal processing, and or algorithms.
- Experience with RF systems including operation, testing, and analyzing collected data.
- Use of system simulators such as Simulink, VSS, and Systemvue.
- Proven track record of successful execution and delivery on previous RF systems programs.
- Experience implementing system engineering principles and working with technical teams to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, and customers.
- Ability to perform detailed analyses of radar systems and components, and prepare written and oral presentations.
- Work independently as well as in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Required Education: M.S. degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or 10 years preferred.
- Required Education: B.S. degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or 12 years preferred.
- Must be willing to travel at times.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
