Job Description
A Senior RF Systems Engineer responsible for designing, integrating, and testing radar and communication systems, collaborating with scientists and engineers to develop specifications, analyze data, and support project delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and test radar and communication systems
- Develop specifications for radar and communication frontend and backend components
- Solve customer problems related to radar and RF systems
- Perform detailed analyses of radar systems and components
- Use system simulators such as Simulink, VSS, and Systemvue for system modeling and testing
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to ensure system compliance and performance
- Prepare written and oral presentations for stakeholders
- Participate in proposal activities and contribute to marketing efforts
Requirements
- Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, integrates, and tests radar and communication systems.
- Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop specifications for radar and/or communication frontend and backend components and apertures.
- Solve customer problems related to radar and communication systems.
- Write invention disclosures and publish papers related to radar and communication systems.
- Brief customers and participate in proposal activities and marketing related to radar and communication systems.
- Familiarity with radar and/or communication systems with an emphasis on one or more of the following: frontend and backend design, phased array systems, digital signal processing, and/or algorithms.
- Experience with RF systems including operation, testing, and analyzing collected data.
- Experience using system simulators such as Simulink, VSS, and Systemvue.
- Proven track record of successful execution and delivery on previous RF systems programs.
- Experience implementing system engineering principles and working with technical teams to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Working knowledge of RF systems with an emphasis on commercial radar, military radar, cellular communication systems, SATCOM, and/or tactical communication systems is preferred.
- Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, and customers.
- Ability to perform detailed analyses of radar systems and components.
- Ability to prepare written and oral presentations.
- Work independently as well as in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Required Education: M.S. degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or B.S. degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Physical requirement: Must be willing to travel at times.
- Special requirement: US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
