Job Description
A senior scientist position focused on conducting cryogenic, low-noise experiments on spin qubit devices, developing new measurement techniques, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to advance quantum device technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct low-noise, cryogenic experiments on sensitive spin qubit devices.
- Develop and implement new measurement techniques and methods for quantum devices.
- Operate and master spin qubit devices to advance experimental capabilities.
- Collaborate with software, theory, and signal modeling teams to enhance device performance.
- Troubleshoot analog electronics and perform noise analysis to optimize experiments.
- Analyze experimental data using scientific programming and interface with hardware.
- Communicate research findings through technical presentations and journal publications.
Requirements
- Experience conducting low-noise, cryogenic experiments on sensitive spin qubit devices.
- Mastery in the operation of spin qubit devices to advance the state-of-the-art through collaboration with other project teams such as software, theory, and signal modeling.
- Expertise in modern experimental physics techniques including troubleshooting analog electronics and noise analysis.
- Proficiency in scientific programming for data analysis and hardware interfacing.
- Demonstrated experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and journal publications.
- Ability and desire to work in a collaborative, team-based environment that integrates physics, software development, data science, and engineering.
- Ph.D. degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on quantum devices or technologies.
- Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
- Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment and be on-site at least 4 days a week.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: $193,700 - $248,200
