Job Description
The RF Systems Engineer Intern will contribute to the development of advanced RF systems by collaborating with scientists and engineers, supporting hardware and algorithm development for communication, radar, and sensing applications, and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute technical expertise to develop the next generation of RF systems
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to support hardware and algorithm development for communication, radar, and sensing applications
- Perform detailed analyses of electronic RF circuits and operate complex electronic equipment
Requirements
- Must have some coursework or experience with electromagnetics, signal processing algorithms, wave propagation, electrical circuits and systems, and hands-on experience with MATLAB or Python.
- Understanding of basic circuit theory, electromagnetics, and digital signal processing.
- Ability to write test and control software for complex and varied systems.
- Familiarity with RF and high-speed digital test equipment.
- Working knowledge of RF components, communication systems, and/or radar systems is a plus.
- Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, and customers.
- Ability to operate complex electronic equipment, perform detailed analyses of electronic RF circuits, and prepare written and oral presentations.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Must be enrolled in an educational program following the intern assignment to be considered.
- Must be willing to travel and work in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62, including U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation range of $30 - $35 per hour, determined by educational year
One-time stipend to help with moving costs for relocating and renting in Malibu, CA
Work schedule of 8 to 12 weeks with start dates on May 25, June 1, and June 15
