Job Description
A Quality Control Inspector responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of electro-optical detector technologies through inspections, documentation, and process audits, primarily in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections of products, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and workmanship standards
- Approve incoming materials and finished products through visual and measurement tests
- Document inspection records accurately and report discrepancies
- Identify product quality issues and assist in resolving and eliminating defective products
- Initiate non-conformance reports and segregate non-compliant materials
- Maintain traceability of incoming materials and final goods
- Perform audit surveillance of test and assembly processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying waste and opportunities for process enhancements
- Participate in internal and external audits of the quality management system
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in quality control inspection of finished products in an aerospace manufacturing work environment, or similar.
- Experience in reporting non-conformances and executing to manufacturing orders and work instructions.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations of aerospace parts and assemblies, including measurement instruments like CMM, optical scopes, multimeters, and calipers.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001 standards, and quality standards AS9100 or ISO9001.
- Advanced knowledge of product manufacturing, assembly, test, and inspection processes.
- Ability to translate an end-product standard into an inspection process.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and workmanship standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and attentive to detail skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
- High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of experience in Quality Control.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
- Ability to operate a computer and other inspection machinery gauges, scopes, and calipers.
- Must be able to follow cleanroom gowning protocols before and after exiting.
- US Citizenship is a required special requirement.

Compensation salary range of $39.62 - $49.54 per hour
