Job Description
A research-focused role involving the development and application of machine learning, generative AI, and cognitive modeling techniques to advance intelligent systems, with responsibilities including algorithm design, model fine-tuning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement algorithms for sensor data processing, system adaptation, and intelligent decision-making
- Develop and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) and multimodal AI systems
- Apply cognitive science principles to improve explainability, trust, and collaboration in human-AI systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to test and refine AI solutions in operational scenarios
- Stay current with emerging trends in machine learning, AI, and cognitive systems
- Solve complex customer challenges and contribute to technical proposals
- Author invention disclosures, research publications, and customer briefings
- Demonstrate prototypes and support marketing of organizational AI capabilities
Requirements
- Research or development experience in one or more of the following areas: Software Engineering (building scalable systems, APIs, and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes), Large Language Models (transformer architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation RAG), Human-Machine Interaction (cognitive architectures, user modeling, explainable AI XAI), Data Analytics (data wrangling, feature engineering, statistical modeling using Python), and Machine Learning (supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning with hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX).
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Cognitive Science, or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in applied machine learning or AI research, preferably in high-stakes or mission-critical domains.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, or permanent resident status.
