Job Description

A highly motivated Electrochemical Scientist responsible for researching and developing electrochemical materials, processes, and systems through experimental design, data analysis, and collaboration to create scalable and practical solutions in fields such as energy storage, semiconductor processing, and coatings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments to investigate electrochemical mechanisms and material behavior
  • Develop and refine electrodeposition and electrochemical synthesis processes with reproducibility and scalability
  • Analyze and interpret electrochemical and materials data to connect structure, properties, and performance
  • Investigate interfacial phenomena, charge transfer, and transport limitations to identify performance drivers
  • Contribute to the development of functional systems or prototypes such as energy storage, semiconductor processing, or coatings
  • Communicate experimental results and insights through presentations and reports
  • Collaborate with engineers and materials scientists to translate fundamental understanding into practical applications

Requirements

  • M.S. degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry or applied research experience in electrochemical systems
  • Strong foundation in fundamentals of electrochemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena
  • Hands-on experience with electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and chronoamperometry
  • Experience with electrodeposition, electrochemical synthesis, or related experimental systems
  • Familiarity with materials characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, and XRD and the ability to correlate structure to electrochemical behavior
  • Demonstrated ability to design thoughtful experiments and extract meaningful insights from complex data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts across disciplines
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn, with a focus on driving progress and delivering results
  • Ability to perform extended work at computer workstations
  • Ability to safely work in electrical testing and wet chemistry laboratory environments
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
