Job Description
A Device Testing Engineer responsible for conducting cryogenic electrical measurements of semiconductor quantum-effect devices, developing measurement systems and software, analyzing data, and collaborating with team members to support device testing and research efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical measurements of semiconductor quantum-effect devices at cryogenic temperatures
- Assist in the development of electrical measurement systems and software for device testing
- Analyze samples using automated data acquisition equipment
- Organize, update, and summarize measurement results
- Communicate technical findings through oral and written reports
Requirements
- Conduct electrical measurements of semiconductor quantum-effect devices at cryogenic temperatures.
- Assist in electrical measurement system development.
- Use cryogenic test systems to develop software for device testing.
- Analyze samples using automated data acquisition equipment.
- Organize, update, and summarize measurement results.
- Require good scientific communication skills, including oral and written reporting.
- Possess a strong work ethic and enjoyment of problem solving.
- Have a natural scientific curiosity.
- Understand and apply basic principles of low-noise electrical measurement.
- Have knowledge of basic electronic circuit design and analysis.
- Possess basic knowledge of scientific programming and/or software development.
- Be familiar with Python programming language (preferred, but not mandatory).
- Have standard computer skills including spreadsheets, presentations, and word processing.
- Be capable of statistical data analysis.
- Have a basic understanding of semiconductor device physics and quantum mechanics.
- Be experienced in the use of cryogenic test equipment.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
- Be able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
