The Analyst Associate in Portfolio Management supports the review and analysis of existing investment portfolios and assists in due diligence for new renewable energy investments, focusing on financial modeling, performance analysis, and risk assessment within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed performance reviews of the operating investment portfolio, including production, revenue, and expenses.
Manage data flows from investments and update internal databases.
Build and manage financial models to analyze project economics and assess risks.
Collaborate with portfolio management and investment teams to meet objectives.
Prepare briefing decks and reports summarizing asset performance and improvement opportunities.
Support due diligence processes for debt, equity investments, and acquisitions by analyzing production, expenses, and merchant curves.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
2-5 years of experience in renewable energy project finance valuation or finance investment banking in the power sector.
Excellent MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience working with complex models.
Advanced experience using Excel required.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and to assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
Dependable and reliable, takes initiative, can work independently, and be a supportive team member.
Experience working with modern data analytics and reporting tools such as Business Objects, SQL, SSMS, SSIS, R, PowerBI, Tableau (preferred).
Willingness to support due diligence processes for debt and equity investments, including analyzing production, operating expenses, and merchant curves.
Support detailed performance review of the operating portfolio, including aspects of production, revenue, and operating expenses.
Manage dataflows from investments and map them into internal database.
Build and manage financial models, including underlying project operating proformas, to analyze economics and review risks.
Prepare briefing decks and reporting materials for management synthesizing asset performance and avenues for improvement.
