Job Description
A Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining Gridmatic's battery optimization platform, working closely with machine learning, data science, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and efficient energy market operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the core of Gridmatic's battery optimization platform.
- Partner with ML, optimization, and data science teams to deploy research into production.
- Collaborate with the Platform Infrastructure team on compute and orchestration layers.
- Develop data pipelines to ingest and process market signals continuously.
- Ensure timely submission of bids within market clearing windows.
Requirements
- Experience in building or working on a battery optimization platform or similar energy market optimization models.
- Ability to develop and maintain data pipelines that ingest and process large-scale market signals, weather data, prices, load, and grid conditions continuously.
- Proficiency in partnering with machine learning, optimization, and data science teams to bring research into production.
- Experience working alongside platform infrastructure teams on compute and orchestration layers that support data processing and optimization tasks.
- Ability to develop software solutions that operate reliably within tight schedules and market clearing windows, ensuring timely bid submissions.
- Relevant skills in software engineering, including coding, testing, and deploying production-quality software.
- Experience with probabilistic machine learning forecasts or similar predictive modeling is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams including ML, optimization, and data science teams.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies relevant to energy markets and grid-scale battery operations.
