Job Description
A senior analyst role focused on managing retail energy operations for commercial customers, including billing, enrollment, regulatory compliance, broker commissions, and customer support, with an emphasis on data analysis and process improvement in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate and timely generation of customer invoices and resolve billing discrepancies
- Ensure accurate customer enrollment and troubleshoot enrollment issues
- Monitor and interpret regulations across power markets and ensure compliance
- Track and report on broker commissions, performance, and exceptions
- Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate support across teams
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and opportunities
- Collaborate on improving tools, systems, and workflows to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in overseeing the timely and accurate generation of customer invoices, monitoring and resolving billing exceptions and discrepancies, and partnering with internal teams to improve billing accuracy and automation.
- Experience ensuring all commercial customers are enrolled accurately and on schedule, managing enrollment exceptions, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and collaborating with IT and third-party vendors to enhance and automate enrollment systems.
- Knowledge of monitoring and interpreting regulations across ERCOT, PJM, and other U.S. power markets, ensuring compliance with market rules and commission guidelines including FERC, PUC, State, and utilities, and preparing data and assisting with regulatory filings, audits, and reports.
- Ability to track and report on commission structures, performance, and exceptions, address broker inquiries professionally and efficiently, and develop tools and reporting processes to automate and optimize commission workflows.
- Strong customer service skills to respond to customer inquiries and issues with clarity, professionalism, and urgency, and ensure seamless coordination between operations, billing, and support teams.
- Proficiency in analyzing operational and financial data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, and developing dashboards and predictive models using SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI to support business decisions.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve tools, systems, and workflows, contributing to special projects including workflow scaling and new service rollouts, and driving operational improvements to support customer satisfaction and company growth.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail energy operations, billing, regulatory compliance, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
