Job Description
A Power Systems Research Scientist at Gridmatic develops physics-based models and scalable algorithms for large-scale transmission system optimization and simulation, focusing on power flow, congestion, and market operations to improve electricity market performance and integration of renewable energy sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop physics-based models of large-scale transmission systems and their impact on electricity markets
- Work on large-scale optimization and simulation problems such as power flow, congestion, and security-constrained unit commitment and economic dispatch (SCUC/SCED)
- Design scalable algorithms and high-performance implementations for complex power system problems
- Build models and computational tools to improve understanding and operation of electricity markets
Requirements
- Develop physics-based models of large-scale transmission systems and their impact on electricity markets.
- Work on large-scale optimization and simulation problems, including power flow, congestion, and security-constrained unit commitment and economic dispatch (SCUC SCED).
