Job Description
This position involves serving as a fire safety and emergency response team member at Gotion's manufacturing facility, responsible for responding to emergencies, operating fire suppression equipment, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to protect the facility and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fire, medical, chemical, and other emergencies within the facility.
- Operate on-site fire suppression equipment to control and extinguish fires involving industrial materials.
- Act as a first responder for chemical spills or releases, containing and mitigating hazardous materials incidents.
- Conduct inspections of fire suppression systems, emergency exits, and facility infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor and review hot work permits to ensure safety precautions and fire watch requirements are followed.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Illinois Department of Public Health EMT-Basic license.
- Be certified as an Illinois State Fire Marshal Basic Firefighter.
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Have at least 3 years of experience working as a firefighter.
- Be physically capable of performing duties as assigned.
- Have correctable vision and the ability to distinguish colors.
- Be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $34-$40 per hour
