Job Description

The Controls Engineer at Gotion Inc. will support and optimize manufacturing processes for lithium battery pack modules by managing process stability, quality, and automation systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing activities to ensure process stability, quality, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Lead equipment and line qualification during initial process ramp-up
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including Work Instructions and Operation Instructions, and train production staff
  • Support automation and controls system integration, including PLC programming, HMI design, and Industry 4.0 solutions
  • Partner with maintenance teams to ensure equipment uptime and troubleshoot electrical and control system issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering with a strong focus on control systems and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Cell assembly processes.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, preferably with Siemens 1500 PLCs.
  • Experience in HMI development and SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with robotics, machine vision, and industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet IP, Modbus, and ProfiNet.
  • Ability to develop and maintain critical process documentation, including Work Instructions (WI) and Operation Instructions (OI).
  • Ability to provide training to production employees on manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet or exceed target yield, capabilities, throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Experience in establishing robust control plans and in-process quality checks in collaboration with Quality and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading equipment and line qualification during initial process ramp-up and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques, leveraging quality and statistical tools.
  • Experience supporting the integration of automation and controls systems, including PLC programming, HMI design, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and recommend improvements in collaboration with maintenance teams.

Benefits & Perks

U.S. base salary range of $80,000 to $120,000, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits
